Six Weeks

Brady boy you are SIX WEEKS OLD!

Your daddy and I tell each other every day that we can't believe how quickly you are growing and changing. We both agree you are the best thing that has ever happened to our little family. Our love for you grows more and more every day.

Mommy needs to pack up all the newborn clothes because you have been out of them for about two weeks. We gave Mrs. Marcia your extra newborn diapers for baby girl Manz to use when she gets here in the next couple of weeks. You are officially in 0-3 month clothes and they get a little tighter every day. We don't have your official weight but it's right around 12 pounds. That puts you in at least the 95% for weight you little piggy.

You are breastfeeding like a champ. During the day you eat every few hours sometimes it's an hour and a half and other times you make it three hours between feeds. Around 5:00 pm you start eating and you continue to eat on and off until bedtime around 8:30 pm. You are still waking up every 2-3 hours to eat at night. As a result of this mommy has not slept for more than three straight hours since the night of January 14th. January 15th we were up all night trying to get you into this world and ever since then I've been feeding my growing boy. It's totally worth it, but man it's exhausting.

We moved you back into your yellow rocker/sleeper at night. We keep it right next to your crib so when you are ready to sleep flat on your back you will already be used to your room/view at night. It has been much better as far as getting you to sleep and keeping you asleep...until you get hungry that is.

You have started to smile at us and it makes us so happy. You are so stinkin' cute!

I forgot to mention last week that your daddy gave you your first bottle. You took your time to figure out what it was but caught on and drank 2 ounces that feed while mommy was at a baby shower. Since then he has tried two other times and you haven't been so excited about it. We will keep working at it so you are ready when mommy goes back to work.

We are half way through maternity leave. It makes me sad to think about but you will be well taken care of  and will only be three days a week.

This picture is from Valentine's Day. We tired to get a family photo. Your daddy and I look exhausted and you are not happy. Let's hope we get some better pictures at some point.

Mommy went in for her six week follow up appointment today. You went with me and behaved very well with just a tiny bit of crying. It turns out all the pain your mommy has been feeling is in fact coming from something that is wrong. Without going into too much detail, my tissue is not healing properly and they had to burn some of it today to try and fix it. It was just a tad VERY painful. I have lotion to put on a couple of times a day for the next week and then have to go back in for a follow up. Lesson of the day is to be more forceful when you call the doctor with an issue because we could have dealt with this two weeks ago! I wasn't just a feeling my stitches after all.
