our main bath renovation as officially begun. i have made it a goal to take photos of our progress on a daily basis. let me introduce you to what we have to work with...
i know, so beautiful. why would we want to do anything to this room?
well, let me tell you why:
the floor is the peel off tile squares and it is ugly.
the grout is cracking and there is a tile with a hole in it.
the walls are nasty and cracking.
need i go on?
so what is our plan...take everything out!!!
ok, not everything. the bathtub, ceiling and vanity base will stay in the room.
EVERYTHING. ELSE. MUST.GO.
here are some highlights from day 1

bad news of day one:
once the shower wall came down we discovered all the wires from our electrical panel come into the house through our shower wall? seriously?! didn't the builder, electrician, and anyone else who built this house/neighborhood know that water and electricity don't mix!
good news of day one:
when craig got the wall behind our sink down we discovered something magical, wonderful, marvelous. we have access to the mystery attic. the attic we could see from our second floor attic but had no access to. now we can get some overhead lighting in our living room. i really can't express how exciting this is.
here's our end product of day 1.
(almost) all of the walls are down.
(almost) all of the insulation was pulled down.
it's time to go to sleep in our sealed off room.
i have pics from day 2 but i really am too tired to post them.
i'm sure you are wondering where all the trash went.
