the rest of the story

once we got our new back door we knew the old nasty shades had to go away. i search and search and found some curtains that i LOVED. unfortunately, there was only one panel left so i waited a week to see if a new shipment would come in. no such luck. we really need to have a way to cover the massive window at night so i decided to move on. this is what i found

i asked craig what he thought of them and he said something along the lines of, "they look like all the other one's."
i was offended and asked what he meant by this. he said, "they are shiny." again, i was a little offended.
then he pointed to the curtains behind me (living room) and said our bedroom is the same.
i guess i like shiny curtains.

last night two of my most precious friends got married.
craig, aubs and I ventured down to new mexico, i mean park meadows and attended such a sweet ceremony. katie and woosang are from south korea and they had nine family members that flew in for the blessed event.

here is the beautiful bride showing off her AWESOME shoes.

i gave the first toast of the night and then facilitated the rest of the toasting. that's right, i kept the mic moving for close to 30 minutes. (that's just a guess. i have no idea how long it really was.)

now for those of you who are laughing because you cannot imagine me doing this, HOLD ON!
i actually had them laughing. that's right, i was a hit. :) ok, enough bragging about myself. this will never happen again so too bad if you missed it! we were the last non family members to leave and katie and woo gave me  beautiful flowers to take home for helping them with the wedding.

today we had another fire break out in the foothills. this one started about 10:30 am this morning and we first noticed it about noon as we were heading out for the Rockies game with the in-laws. after the game craig and i decided to go on a fire hunt. we can see this one from our house because it is northwest of longmont.
here are some pics from our drive.

we are praying they will get this under control quickly and that it will not take out nearly as many homes or buildings as our the fourmile canyon fire this past week. the official count of homes destroyed last week is now at 166. very sad times in boulder country.
