Does mom get a flu shot? Where do you deliver the baby? Who delivers the baby? Do they give you drugs? Do you get vaccinations? Do you circumcise? Do you go crazy trying to figure all of this out?
There is so much information out there it can be straight up overwhelming. In the end you just have to do your research, pray about it, decide what is best for your family, and not care if other people mothers judge you.
One of the big issues/hot buttons out there is the matter of sleep and eating schedules. Do you feed your baby on demand or put him on a schedule? Depending on what you do you are basically considered an evil person by the "opposing" side.
Until this evening Brady has been eating on demand and sleeping as needed. Patterns have developed the past two months so he goes to bed at roughly the same time every night and wakes up at roughly the same time every day. As of tonight we are working towards a consistent bedtime, wake up time and everything in between.
I go back to work in about two weeks. This means that three days a week Brady will HAVE to wake up at 6:30 am so I can breastfeed before I leave for the day. His daddy will then get him ready and take him to daycare at Ms. Jessica's house.
In order for our family to function with me out of the house 30 hours a week for work and 4 hours for my commute we NEED consistency. Our little man needs to establish patterns when he knows mom and dad will be there. He needs to get enough sleep so he is not tired and irritable in someone else's care when we are not there to comfort him. So for these reasons we have started baby boot camp.
We will see how it goes the next two weeks. In the end it might be more like mommy boot camp but I'm hoping it will be worth it for everyone involved.
