lousy to love: the living room

i know i haven't posted in a while. it has been a crazy few weeks. we are somewhat back to normal so i decided it was time to get back on the blog. i have been waiting until we finished rooms to post them, but i have started to realize i won't post anything anytime soon if i go that route. so here we go...the living room (as much of it as we have complete right now).

we love our living room! it went from our least favorite to our most favorite space. i might say that about every room along the way, but we really do love this room. in this room we painted the walls and ceiling, installed the laminate floor, painted the baseboards, tore out the old carpet on the window seat and made a new cushion with throw pillows (thanks mom!), and refinished an antique chair we got for free off craigslist, and painted the blue side table that i picked up at local thrift store.

we still have some things to do: install trim around the swamp cooler and paint the drywall, paint the window frame and trim around the front door, new blinds and drapes for the window seat. craig also has some ideas to add some architectural details to the room, but that won't happen for a few years.

so, there is the first room in our house. i hope you like it because if you ever come over it will be the first room you enter.
